Although God has blessed her to sing from a child, her songwriting abilities have only been manifested since 2003. Growing up she has always been a member of a church choir, but it was not until she joined Williams Temple COGIC that her music ministry was truly developed.
At Williams Temple, she is a faithful member of the Mass Choir, director of the Women’s choir and assistant Sunday School superintendent. She is also a member of the jurisdictional choir and the Houston Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA)
Musical influences are Gospel great Yolanda Adams, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kim Burrell & Mary Mary.
The purpose of Kathryn Riggins Ministries is to edify, encourage, and bring a sense of unity to the body of Christ through music and testimony. As Kathryn states; “Music is a universal language we all share. I intend to reach as many individuals as I can with the good news of Jesus Christ and use my gift to bless others and bring honor to God.”
Kathryn Riggins is a Houston native and graduate of Jack Yates High School. When she is not at work or church, you can find her at home with her husband and two sons.
